The Coastal Change Analysis Program (C-CAP) produces a nationally standardized database of land cover information (developed using remotely sensed imagery) for the coastal regions of the U.S. C-CAP products provide inventories of coastal intertidal areas, wetlands, and adjacent uplands. While regional C-CAP data capture changes in our nation’s coastal areas by updating land cover maps every five years, high-resolution C-CAP products focus on bringing NOAA's national mapping framework to the local level by providing data relevant for addressing site-specific management decisions.

- Produced through documented, repeatable procedures using standard data sources and including extensive field sampling, validation, and standard quality control review procedures.
- Utilizes various sources of data, including aerial and satellite imagery.
- Complementary to NOAA's regional C-CAP data for "hot spot" areas of need. These products use a slightly modified version of the standard C-CAP classification scheme.
