The National B-WET Grant Program

The Bay Watershed Education and Training (B-WET) Program was established in 2002 to create environmentally literate students and teachers through education. The program supports NOAA's goal of developing a well-informed citizenry involved in decision-making that positively impacts our ocean, coastal, watershed, and Great Lakes ecosystems. B-WET is sponsored by NOAA's Office of Education with programs in seven regions across the nation, including California, Chesapeake Bay, Great Lakes, Gulf of Mexico, Hawai`i, New England, and the Pacific Northwest.

B-WET Hawai`i

The B-WET Hawai`i Program is an environmental education program that promotes locally relevant, experiential learning for the K-12 audience and educators on important topics such as climate change, earth systems, ocean and coastal sciences, and community resilience to hazards. The B-WET Hawai`i competitive grants are awarded annually to fund projects that provide meaningful watershed educational experiences for students, professional development for teachers, and service learning opportunities for students and their communities.
