This zip file contains four shapefiles representing data used either in the NOAA Sea Level Rise Viewer (https://coast.noaa.gov/slr) or in creating inundation mapping outputs. It is available for download at https://coast.noaa.gov/slrdata/Ancillary/index.html. A description for each shapefile is provided below. Email coastal.info@noaa.gov for more information. - NOAA_SLR_Viewer_DataExtent.shp: Dataset represents the combined extent of all areas available in the SLR Viewer and on the corresponding data download page (https://coast.noaa.gov/slrdata). Generally, the extent of this dataset is determined by the availability of lidar-based elevation data, from which digital elevation models (DEMs) are derived and used for mapping inundation. The extent of this dataset will change as existing areas are expanded or as new areas are included. Inundated areas and conversely, areas not inundated within this dataset are considered valid based on the mapping methodology at https://coast.noaa.gov/data/digitalcoast/pdf/slr-inundation-methods.pdf. See the three datasets below for exceptions. - NOAA_SLR_Viewer_NoDataAreas_Elevation.shp: Dataset represents areas within the SLR Viewer's DEMs where elevation data was not available. These are small areas within a DEM that will be included once lidar-based elevation data become available. - NOAA_SLR_Viewer_NoDataAreas_Levees.shp Dataset represents areas where leveed areas were excluded (or popped out) from the inundation mapping outputs. These areas will never be shown as inundated due to the presence of a federal- or state-certified storm surge levee. - NOAA_SLR_Viewer_NoDataAreas_Redacted.shp Dataset represents areas within a DEM or the mapping outputs that are not available for download due to agreements with local entities and the resulting distribution restrictions. In some cases, data may appear in the SLR Viewer, but are not available for download.
