First Stop for New Projects: Digital Coast

The Digital Coast offers many baseline data sets and tools used on a regular basis by Minnesota’s Lake Superior Coastal Management Program for their planning, zoning, and management projects. Examples include the water-depth data available for the state’s entire Lake Superior coast and land cover data used in restoration projects. Many of the tools available from the Digital Coast—particularly the CanVis visualization tool, Impervious Surface Analysis Tool, Coastal County Snapshots, and Habitat Priority Planner—are used on a regular basis to make coastal project assessments and planning endeavors more accurate and detailed.
