Mattapoisett Neck Tidal Restoration Project

Recipient: Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs

Federal Funding: $3,725,565

This award funds the restoration of tidal flows by replacing degraded, undersized, and restrictive culverts within the Mattapoisett Neck salt marsh system, as well as the planning and creation of designs to address two additional tidal restrictions under Mattapoisett Neck Road. By removing these restrictions, the project will reduce flooding risks and improve the marsh ecosystem for its inhabitants and local recreational use.
