Partnership Makes Resilience a Reality
The Resilient Community Partnership leverages NOAA funding to help Delaware communities improve their ability to address inland flooding, coastal storms, sea level rise, and changing climate conditions. This effort is led by the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control, Delaware National Estuarine Research Reserve, and Delaware Coastal Management Program.
The partnership started with the Town of Slaughter Beach, where the project is providing staffing and technical support, public outreach, and training. The focus is on planning and preparation capabilities, to include vulnerability assessments and identifying adaptation and mitigation practices. (2016)
