Constructing Living Shorelines and Marsh Terraces to Enhance Community Resilience

Recipient: Ducks Unlimited, Inc.

Grant Amount: $6,251,920 Matching Funds: $300,000

This award will construct 10,000 linear feet of living shoreline and 88,650 linear feet of earthen marsh terraces along Highway 1 in Lafourche Parish, Louisiana that will protect critical community infrastructure while also providing valuable fish and wildlife habitat. The project will enhance community resilience from future hurricanes, storms, and flooding events through the creation of emergent marsh habitat and protecting existing marsh.
