Hazard and Resiliency Planning: Perceived Benefits and Barriers Among Land Use Planners

This research report identifies factors that encourage or deter the implementation of hazard mitigation and climate adaptation policies by local land use planners and decision makers. Literature review and focus groups were used to investigate mitigation policy and the government’s role, development and climate adaptation issues, factors affecting implementation, and benefits and barriers related to pursuing mitigation policies.
