Designing Providence Riverwalk to Improve Resilience and Habitat of Woonasquatucket River, Rhode Island

Grant Amount: $1,000,000 Matching Funds: $2,000,000 Total Project Amount: $3,000,000

This award will develop final designs to naturalize the Providence Riverwalk to improve water quality, resiliency, and habitat of the Woonasquatucket River. Once implemented, the project will raise the riverwalk above future flood elevations, renaturalize riverbanks beneath the new shared-use path, and filter stormwater runoff.
