Adam Stein

Learning Services Division

Adam Stein is chief of the Learning Services Division for NOAA’s Office for Coastal Management, where he most recently served as a senior policy advisor. Stein previously managed several Office for Coastal Management programs, including the Climate Resilience Regional Challenge, Regional Coastal Resilience Grants Program, Coastal Communities Program, and Coastal Storms Program.

He originally joined NOAA’s Pacific Services Center in 2003.

Stein has specialized experience in hazard mitigation and climate adaptation. His background includes over a decade of on-the-ground service to NOAA partners in the Pacific Islands, Southeast, and Caribbean regions, and he previously served in an advisory capacity to several federal and state agencies and national and regional organizations.

Stein holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of North Carolina Asheville, a master’s degree in geography from San Diego State University, and professional certificates in adult learning and coaching.
