Restoring Native Grasses and Wildflowers to South Fenwick Island

Recipient: South Carolina State Department of Natural Resources

Federal Funding: $305,998

This award funds the restoration of 12 acres of native vegetation on South Fenwick Island, part of the ACE Basin National Estuarine Research Reserve. The project is intended to serve as a blueprint for maritime grassland restoration in the reserve, lowering the cost of future field restoration and maintenance and enabling staff and volunteers to continue their restoration efforts in other areas of the reserve.
