Coastal Indiana employs 287,000 people annually, earning a total of almost $12.9 billion. This equates to almost $33.6 billion in gross domestic product.
Three billion-dollar weather disaster affected Indiana in 2018—and a total of 24 affected the state between 2010 and 2018. Tornadoes made up the majority of these events, with outbreaks in the hundreds causing major damage to Indiana and surrounding states.*
